DJI Osmo Mobile is a hand-held smartphone gimbal system featuring 3-axis stabilisation for producing smooth videos and sharp images.
The Osmo Mobile syncs with compatible Apple and Android devices through the DJI Go App. Once the app is installed and synced with the Osmo Mobile you can control your phone's camera with either dedicated physical buttons or from your phone's screen, you can also enable the Osmo Mobile's best feature, ActiveTrack, a feature that automatically keeps your smartphone's camera facing you as you move.
The DJI Osmo mobile is compatible with most phones with a width between 58.6-84.8mm (phones with 4-6 inch display's); and at time of writing requires Android 4.1 and up, or iOS 8.0 and up to sync.
With the DJI Osmo Mobile you never have to worry about shaky videos ever again. The 3-axis gimbal system stabilises your cellphone along with its camera on three axes to smooth out shakes, wobbles, bobs, and any other unwanted movements so you can walk, jog, ride, skate, cycle, ski and still get sleek looking videos.
The 3-axis gimbal also greatly helps when shooting long exposures or low light pictures. The 3 axis gimbal works so good that you can even capture light trail images handhelp.
With DJI's Activetrack you don't need your own video crew, simply select yourself (or any other subject) before recording and the Osmo Mobile will keep you in frame by moving the smartphone as you move.
Technology is always advancing, video recording resolutions went from HD to Full HD, and from Full HD to 4K; smartphones are always evolving and some feature astonishing video capabilities. The Osmo Mobile futureproofs itself by working with almost any Android or Apple smartphone with a width between 58.6-84.8mm, which are most phones between 4 and 6 inches.
Don't just do a normal timelapse; select a starting point, select additional points, and then set your interval and duration timers to create a moving time-lapse video.
The DJI Osmo Mobile features a panorama function that automatically captures and blends 9 separate photos together to create one large, detailed and expansive photo.
The DJI Go App feautures live video streaming, making it easy to instantly share your video to Youtube or Facebook Live.
After you have installed the DJI Do App and paired your phone you can control your phone's camera with either dedicated physical buttons or from your phone's screen. The handle features a dedicated button for shutter and record, and camera settings such as ISO, Shutter speed and White Balance can be controlled from the Go app interface.
The gimbal can be controlled from a trigger and a joystick. Long press the trigger to isolate your movement completely for even smoother video, tap twice to re-center the camera, and triple tap to start Selfie mode. The joystick enables you to set sensitivity, invert pan or tilt, or even set the gimbal to only move in specific directions.
The Osmo Mobile features upgradeable firmware and a downloadable SDK (Software Development Kit), this means that new features can be programmed by individuals to expand the gimbals capabilities. Some of the previous DJI items have already seen user-programmed features in DJI's own official firmware updates.
The Osmo Mobile is compatible with all the existing and coming Osmo accessories. Available accessories include rods, tripods, arms, and mounts.
